I wanted to respond to Sophie’s most recent post on Measured Speech. As part of my wellness coaching course I have been collecting wellness model diagrams; redrawing them with imprecise charcoal and ink and then stitching them using digital embroidery that picks up all the glitches and traces of the drawn line and translates it back into precise yet imprecise detail. The image shows machine embroidery of wellness model diagrams including ‘Spheres of Influence,’ ‘Wheel of Awareness’ and ‘Solution Focused, Decisional Balance’. What I have noticed from drawing and redrawing these models is that the models always follow a pattern of optimisation. Everything is always in a circular one way motion (clockwise or anti clockwise) on a linear scale (from left to right or upwards) and always heading towards change and growth. This one is provisionally called ‘Measure’.
