On this page is an audio-visual funeral ceremony, resembling a traditional Chinese funeral. The background of the page contains pink curtains draped on each side of the page with a pastel pink and blue faded background. In the centre is a portrait image of myself with white and yellow flowers floating around. Above states 1997-2022.

On the far left of the page from top to bottom, the icons represent Chinese luck/money symbols, an iPhone, noodle soup, and butterflies. Next to the icons is a white banner with my name in written in Chinese characters, 叶爱玲, with a red candle underneath.

Around the portrait centre, there are various icons floating around its periphery. Beginning from the top left and ending with the top right, there is Chinese funeral money used for burning, a rice bowl, Chinese incense sticks, a steamed basket of Chinese buns (xiao long bao), gold statues of Chinese deities, a CD, watermelon slices, a Chinese trumpet (suona), and persimmons.

On the far right of the page, the icons from top to bottom are butterflies, a Buddha statue, a golden Ox statue, and mangoes. Next to these icons is another white banner with my name written in English, Aileen Ye, followed by a red candle on the bottom.

And finally, on the very bottom of the page centre are three icons, from left to right, a Word document captioned as ‘eulogy’, a gold statue figure bowing captioned with ‘bow three times’ and a book of memories which plays a memorial video of myself. In the video, a song by Sinéad O’ Connor plays, titled Nothing Compares 2 U.

The slideshow showcases my face photoshopped onto random images, such as birthdays and doing sports, juxtaposed with fake tweets and Facebook comments made under my ‘dead persona’ to emphasise the surreal effects of remembering the digital person vs the real one.
